Accessibility statement

1) Introduction

We are delighted that you have visited our website and thank you for your interest. Below you will find information on the accessibility of our online offering. We provide information on

  • what offering and functions you can expect on this website,
  • how you can use this offering and these functions,
  • what options are available to you for accessible use, and
  • which authority is responsible for monitoring accessibility on this website.

2) Services and functions of this website

This website is an online shop for the sale of goods and digital content. Goods are defined here as physical objects. Digital content, on the other hand, is data or data sets that are created and provided in digital form. Here you will find products that can be added to an electronic shopping basket and then ordered and paid for. This website has a header and footer menu. The header menu lists the products we sell by category, which can be accessed individually from there. Each product is described on its own detail page with further information about its essential characteristics, the scope of delivery and the total price. From there, it can be added to the electronic shopping cart. In addition, the electronic shopping cart can be accessed via the header menu as soon as you have added at least one product to it. The electronic ordering process can be initiated and completed from this shopping cart. In the footer menu, you will find links to our legal notice with our contact information, as well as information on the legal basis of our online offering, delivery and payment options, and links to other helpful service pages.

3) Explanations on the use of the offering and its functions

3.1 Virtual buttons

This website can be operated using virtual buttons.

3.2 Start, overview and detail pages

On the start page, you will find a selection of products on offer in the central area of the page. By interacting with a product presentation, you will be taken to the product detail page. In the header menu, you can navigate between the different product categories. After selecting a category, you will be taken to an overview page where all products in this category are displayed. By interacting with a product presentation on the overview page, you will be taken to the product detail page. In addition to all essential information about the product and the total price, the product detail pages may also contain a quantity selection element and a shopping cart button. If available, the desired order quantity can be specified using the quantity selection.

3.3 Electronic shopping cart

By clicking on the shopping cart button, you add the product (in the selected quantity, if applicable) to the electronic shopping cart. This electronic shopping cart can be accessed at any time via the header menu. Here you can first check the products you have added. Using the corresponding buttons, you can remove products or, if applicable, change the order quantity.

3.4 Electronic ordering process

After checking, you can complete the electronic ordering process by interacting with the corresponding buttons. To do this, you will first be asked to enter your contact details (at least your name, email address and delivery or billing address) in the input mask. In the next step, you can then choose between the available delivery or service options. Finally, you can choose one of the available payment methods, enter the necessary payment details and complete the order. The order is only binding once the button provided for this purpose on the final order page has been clicked. It is labelled ‘Buy’, ‘Buy now’, ‘Place order with obligation to pay’ or another clear wording. Before clicking this order button, you can use the ‘Back’ button on your browser to navigate back to the previous steps at any time and/or cancel the order process at any time. If you have chosen to pay using an online payment method, you will be redirected from the final order page to the payment provider's system to make the payment.

4) Legal requirements for accessibility

As an online shop, this website is classified as an ‘e-commerce service’ and features electronic ordering and payment options. It is subject to specific legal requirements for accessibility. In general, this website must provide functions and procedures that are tailored to the needs of people with disabilities and enable usability with digital aids.

The online shop functions of this website must therefore be

  • perceptible
  • operable
  • understandable and
  • robust

Perceptibility means that the information and components of the online shop are presented in such a way that they are easily perceptible to all users. Operability requires that the functions of the online shop can also be used by users with mobility or intellectual impairments. Comprehensibility requires that the information and functions of the online shop are logically structured, easily recognisable and unambiguously labelled. Finally, robustness requires that the content and functions of the online shop can be used reliably and without restrictions, even if users employ digital aids. If the online shop sells products that are subject to its own accessibility requirements, information on accessible use must be provided for such products, where available.

5) Available aids for accessible use

This website meets accessibility requirements through the following measures:

  • Alt text for images: Images in the online shop are provided with alternative text that gives a brief description of the image and can be processed by screen readers (screen reading aids).
  • Colour contrast adjustability: The colour contrast of the page elements can be adjusted. It can be increased or decreased.
  • Accessible captchas: To ensure that entries are made by humans, so-called ‘captchas’ may be used. These captchas can be solved not only by visual recognition, but also by solving simple puzzles.
  • Browser-independent page output: The content and functions of this website are available in identical layout, alignment and resolution regardless of the browser used.
  • Cascading Style Sheets (CSS): A programming language is used that separates the presentation of the page content in terms of layout, colour and design from its content structure. This makes it possible for digital aids to use their own visibility schemes to display the page content.
  • Verified correctness of HTML codes: All HTML codes are permanently checked for functionality in order to rule out functional failures and the inability to be captured by digital aids.
  • Sufficient spacing between characters: Characters are displayed with sufficient spacing between them so as not to impair readability.
  • Compatibility with screen readers: The content of the online shop is compatible with all common screen readers (screen reading aids) and can be read and processed by them.
  • Responsive design (adaptation to different screen sizes): The dimensions of the content, elements and functions automatically adapt to the size of the screen used.
  • Scalability (visibility when enlarged): Page elements and content remain legible in high resolution even when enlarged.
  • Text prompts when input fields are not filled in: If mandatory input fields are not filled in, a text prompt is displayed in addition to a colour highlight. This prompt clarifies which information is missing in the input field.
