Health Checks

Health Checks are monitoring mechanisms used to assess the current operational status of IT systems, applications and network components. They regularly verify whether a system is reachable and whether defined functions are operating correctly. Checks can cover servers, switches, routers, firewalls, applications, interfaces and individual network services. Depending on the system, Health Checks can also monitor metrics such as CPU utilisation, memory usage, response times or network connection status. If errors or unusual conditions are detected, alerts or automated actions can be triggered. Health Checks are an important part of IT monitoring and help organisations identify potential disruptions at an early stage while monitoring the availability and reliability of their IT infrastructure.
