Vulnerability Management
Vulnerability Management is the structured and continuous process of managing known and potential security weaknesses across an IT infrastructure. It typically includes identifying relevant IT assets, performing regular vulnerability scans, assessing discovered vulnerabilities and prioritising them according to actual risk. Information from CVE databases, CVSS scores and Threat Intelligence can support this assessment. Depending on severity and exposure, appropriate measures such as patching, configuration changes or other security controls are implemented. Subsequent verification determines whether the vulnerability has been successfully remediated. Vulnerability Management is an important component of cybersecurity and helps organisations continuously monitor their attack surface and systematically reduce security risks.
