Medium Dependent Interface (MDI)
The Medium Dependent Interface, MDI for short, is superficially a socket for network cables. More precisely, Medium Dependent Interfaces are connections of network cards for network cables. Medium-dependent interfaces can be used to connect any network devices directly and indirectly to each other. The reason for this is the special arrangement of the individual wires in the network cable. In order not to block the data exchange, the signal output of a device is linked with the signal input of another component.
