NetOps

NetOps stands for Network Operations and covers the processes, technologies and tasks involved in operating, monitoring and managing network infrastructures. Typical responsibilities include configuring switches, routers and firewalls, network monitoring, troubleshooting, performance management and implementing security policies. Modern NetOps practices increasingly use automation, APIs and Infrastructure as Code to perform recurring tasks more efficiently and consistently. Technologies and protocols such as NETCONF, RESTCONF and YANG can support the programmatic management of network devices. NetOps also increasingly incorporates DevOps principles, enabling faster and more standardised changes across complex network environments. The objective is to maintain stable, scalable and efficiently managed network operations with high availability.
