Offline UPS

An Offline UPS is a basic type of uninterruptible power supply and is also known as a Standby UPS. During normal operation, connected IT equipment is powered directly from the mains while the UPS battery remains charged and ready for use. If a power failure or significant voltage deviation occurs, the system switches to the inverter and integrated battery. This process involves a short transfer time, typically lasting only a few milliseconds. Offline UPS systems are primarily suitable for less critical IT systems, workstations, smaller network devices and other electronic equipment with moderate protection requirements. Compared with Line-Interactive and Online UPS systems, they provide more basic power protection but generally offer lower acquisition costs, high efficiency and low energy consumption during normal operation.
