Private Cloud

A Private Cloud is a cloud infrastructure in which computing power, storage, network resources and applications are dedicated to a single organisation. Unlike a Public Cloud, the underlying resources are not shared with other organisations. The infrastructure can be operated within an organisation's own data centre as an on-premises solution or hosted by an external service provider. Private Clouds use technologies such as virtualisation, automation and self-service portals to provide and manage IT resources flexibly. This model gives organisations a high level of control over data, access permissions, security policies and system configurations. It is particularly suitable for organisations with specific requirements relating to data protection, compliance, IT security or customised infrastructure. Private Clouds can also be combined with Public Cloud services to create a Hybrid Cloud architecture.
