Ultra-Wide Band (UWB)
Ultra-Wideband, or UWB, is a wireless technology that transmits signals across a very wide frequency range at low spectral power density. It is designed for short-range communication and enables highly precise distance and position measurements between compatible devices. Among other techniques, UWB can evaluate the travel time of radio signals to determine distances. Typical applications include indoor positioning, asset tracking, access control systems, digital vehicle keys and device location. Its precise ranging capabilities distinguish UWB from technologies such as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, which often use different measurement methods for positioning. The technology is increasingly used in IoT, industrial and enterprise environments where accurate location and distance information is required.
