ZigBee

ZigBee is a wireless communication technology designed for applications requiring low power consumption and relatively low data rates. It is based on the IEEE 802.15.4 standard and is widely used in IoT systems, building automation, smart home solutions and industrial applications. ZigBee devices can communicate using network topologies including star, tree and mesh configurations. Mesh networks allow suitable devices to forward data for other participants, helping to extend network coverage and improve resilience. Depending on the region, ZigBee can operate in different frequency bands, with the 2.4 GHz band being widely used worldwide. Its low power requirements enable long operating periods for battery-powered sensors and other endpoint devices. Typical applications include sensors, lighting systems, controllers, smart meters and other connected IoT devices.
