Channel Planning
Channel Planning refers to the strategic planning and allocation of wireless channels within a Wi-Fi network. Its purpose is to minimise channel overlap and interference between neighbouring access points while maintaining stable wireless connectivity. Factors such as available frequency bands, channel widths, physical distances, signal strength and the number of access points are taken into account. Careful channel planning is particularly important in enterprise networks, office buildings, schools and other environments with a high density of Wi-Fi devices. Modern wireless systems can partially automate channel selection by analysing network conditions and adjusting channel assignments when required. Effective Channel Planning helps organisations use available Wi-Fi capacity efficiently, reduce interference and improve overall network performance.
