Co-Channel Interference (CCI)

Co-Channel Interference, or CCI, refers to performance degradation in Wi-Fi networks caused by multiple devices or access points operating on the same radio channel. As Wi-Fi devices sharing a channel compete for available airtime, a high number of active devices can reduce usable network capacity. Potential effects include lower data rates, increased latency and reduced overall Wi-Fi performance. CCI is particularly relevant in environments with a high density of access points or connected devices, such as office buildings, schools and event venues.
